The Outlawz Alcohol Markers Anything Goes/Christmas Twist Challenge

I cannot believe it is already the end of the month! What happened to June? It just up and disappeared. And you know what that means. Yup, it's almost July. Time for Penny to turn 65. Really? Who did that to me? I will be officially O.L.D.

But, for now, I am still a mere 64. And I am going to enjoy my last few days of middle age. I am even going out for dinner Saturday night with our dinner club. We certainly don't go out to eat much now that Gary is retired. And that's probably a good thing. After all, he is a good cook, and we have been having some really yummy meals at home...

Back to our challenge, which is an easy one, right? I guess I'd best mention that our sponsor for this month is Delicious Doodles, home of really fabulous images. And I used mine for this challenge. Teri will be awarding our randomly-selected participant 4 digis. Lucky winner! So be sure to get your entries in this week!

I used Delicious Doodles Mistletoe Kiss this Friday, as I wanted to make another Christmas card for this year. She is a gorgeous image, and was really fun to color. I think Teri's images would all be great to color, so do stop by her shop and check them out. I printed the image on X-Press It BC and colored her with my Copics and Twin Touch Brush markers:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: Y21, YR23, E15, E18
Eyes: B32, B34
Fur: E53, E55, E57
Berries: R27, TTR2, TTR1
Leaves: YG63, YG67, TTG43

I added Stickles Xmas Red to her fingernails, which I wish I hadn't done, but oh, well...

My DP is from the Bazzill Believe collection. It was Zutterized and paired with Stampin' Up CS. Then I die-cut four corner pieces using the Cheery Lynn Holly Corner die. And that's it for this card. Pretty CAS for me, huh?

Please check out the beautiful pieces done by my talented teammates: Carla, Dawn, and Kathi. And then won't you join us? You can use any brand of alcohol markers on your images. We'd love for you to play along!

Have a great weekend!

Sympathy Card for Roxann

Just wanted to post the card I made for Roxann, whose husband, Larry, passed away recently. I feel so badly for her. Never really sure what to say in a time like this, but that I am so sorry that she has to go through this. Hence, the image that I chose is Saturated Canary So Sorry.

I printed her on MICBC and colored her with my Copics and Twin Touch Brush markers:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: T2, T6, T8, T10
Eyes: E23, E27
Stockings/Sweater: R81, R83, R85
Skirt: TTBR109, TTBR107, Y21
Balloon: TTBR109, TTBR107, RV000, RV00

I added Glossy Accents to her tears and die-cut a sentiment with Cheery Lynn dies. And that's my CAS card for Roxann and her family.

The Outlawz Alcohol Markers Photo/Color Inspiration

Ah, Friday once again. The workers rejoice. We retirees yawn. Ho-hum. Another day. But, it is also time for a new challenge! And this time we are going for a color inspiration. What do you think? Are these yummy colors or what?

This month we are sponsored by Delicious Doodles, where you will find really fabulous images. Teri will be awarding our randomly-selected participant with 4 digis of his/her choice. Pretty cool, huh? I will be using my DD image next week.

I have been remiss about getting to my vacation photos. I am still immersed in books, and I have read several since I last posted. I am a reading machine, I tell ya. I wonder if I want to escape into books because my fabulous Kaua'i trip is in the past. And I am not thrilled with our Arizona summer heat. So I avoid it by occupying my mind elsewhere. Hmmmmm...well, whatever it is, I am still intent upon boring you with vacation photos soon. Sorta.

Sorta for the soon. Not for the boring. Just so we are perfectly clear on that. Clear. As mud.

Anyway, our friend, Catherine, had a birthday on Wednesday. So I made a card for her with hiking in mind, since she loves to hike--though not in the 100+ heat we have right now. I found, (in my collection), a cute Mayzy Art image, Hiker. I printed her on X-Press It BC and colored her with, (surprise, surprise), my Copics:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair/Stick: E42, E44, E79
Shirt/Socks: R02, E08
Shoes: BG70, BG11, BG72, BG75, W0, W1
Jeans: BG70, BG11, BG72
Backpack: E41, E42, E43
Binoculars: W0, W1, W3, W5, BG11, BG72, BG75
Clouds: BG70, BG11

This was rather a CAS card for me, don't you think? I used Stampin' Up CS for the hills and DCWV CS for the sun. which was die-cut with the Cheery Lynn Italian Flourish Mini Doily die. And I used two Cuttlebug folders for embossing my hills: Tiny Mosaic and Tiny Bubbles. The sentiment is one I created. That's it!

Please check out the cool creations by my talented teammates. And then use any brand of alcohol markers and the above inspiration to color your image for us to see. Really would like to see more participants each week, and our prize is really wonderful--so join us, won't you?

Have a wonderful weekend!

The Outlawz Alcohol Markers Wedding/Anniversary Challenge

June is a month for lots of weddings; ergo, also lots of anniversaries. So we are celebrating both occasions this week. Hope you decide to join us!

We are sponsored this month by Delicious Doodles, home of some fantastic digi images. Teri is offering 4 digis of the winner's choice for our randomly-selected participant. Lucky you! I will be using a DD image later this month.

Our friends, Ellie & Ed, are celebrating their anniversary on the 18th. So this challenge fit perfectly into my plans for cards! Isn't it nice when things work out that way...

I had a really fun lunch with Ellie yesterday at Paradise Bakery and gave her this card. I think she liked it--it does say 'Happy Anniversary' on the inside. I wanted to use an image of a drummer, as Ed is a great one, and he enjoys playing in a band. I found the perfect image at Make It Crafty, so I combined it with a singer image, and voila! I used Drummer-Dude and Rockstar-Singer. I would give you the exact links, but Make It Crafty is temporarily closed for maintenance. They expect to reopen tomorrow. Awkward...

I merged my two images and printed them on X-Press It BC. I colored them with my Copics:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
His Hair: W0, W2, W4, W6
Her Hair: W4, W6, W8, W10
Cymbals: YR21, YR24, YR27
Drums: W0, W2, W4, W6, W8
Clothing: B01, B02, B04, B06, W0, W2, W4, W6

I added a bit of Pearl Pen to the background, then used my Zutter for the image and the DP--which I took from the Authentique Journey and Carta Bella Noted collections. My CS is from Stampin' Up. And, of course, I had to use some die cuts, made from the following:

Memory Box Treble Clef
Memory Box Musical Interlude
MFT Musical Notes

That's it for this week. Carla, Dawn, Kathi, and I are hoping you will color up an image for a wedding or anniversary card and play along with us. You can use any brand of alcohol markers, and you can be at any level of expertise. Don't be shy! Please check out the cool creations by my teammates.

I am still reading like crazy, so haven't yet gone through my photos from Kaua'i. I will, I will, I promise. (Just don't know when yet.)

Hope you have a great weekend!

The Outlawz Alcohol Markers 'Inspired by a Song, Book, or Movie Title' Challenge

My post header is a real mouthful, isn't it? But a fun challenge, for sure! There were so many choices for this challenge, but I narrowed it down to a book/tv series title, A Game of Thrones. And I decided to use a Rick St. Dennis digi, Mother of Dragons, for my image.

But before I get to my card description, I want to mention that this month we have a new sponsor, Delicious Doodles. The prize for our randomly-selected participant will be 4 digis of his/her choice. Great prize, as there are so many fabulous, unique images to choose from. So be sure to get your entries in this month!

I also want to mention that I have uploaded my images from my vacation, but haven't gone through them yet. With a few hundred to look at, it may be a bit before I do a blog post on Kaua'i. I am still reading like a fiend, and I need to let that run its course. When I come up for air, I will get to my vacation blog post.

So, for this week, it looks like I went for skin. I actually think Gary was a little shocked when I showed him my finished card. He asked if I was going to give it to him for Valentine's Day next year. I said, sure, if I could remember that long. Which is highly unlikely.

Anyway, I printed "MOD" on X-Press It BC and colored the image with my Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: Y21, YR23, E15, E18
Eyes: B32, B34
Shoulder Dragon: T2, T4, T6, T8, E02, E08, E09
Lower Dragon: G40, G43, G46, YR21, YR24, YR27
Laces/Thong/Shoes: Spica Pitch Black

I used DP from the Basic Grey Curio collection, Zutterized it, and paired it with Stampin' Up CS. I added some ribbon, pearl pen, Wild Orchid Crafts pin & flowers, and Marianne Designs Decorative Elegance die cuts. And that's all she wrote for this week.

Except to say, that we'd love for you to color up your inspiration with any brand of alcohol markers, make your creation with it, and enter it into our challenge this week! And be sure to check out the beautiful designs by my talented teammates: Carla, Dawn, and Kathi! Looking forward to seeing what inspires you!
