The Outlawz Alcohol Markers Anything Goes Challenge/Christmas Twist

It is Friday again. Funny how that happens every week. I am struggling to do anything creative because I got hooked into a book series that has captivated me. As in, I cannot get enough of reading it. To the detriment of everything else that needs doing. Oh well...

We are sponsored during the month of May by Ditzie Digi Design. They are giving away 3 digis to first place, 2 digis to second place, and 3 digis to third place. These prizes will be randomly selected from the pool of May participants.

I used my DDD image last week. So, this week I decided to go for the Christmas twist and chose SCACD Holiday Owl, by Carmen Medlin, for my image. I printed the owl on X-Press It BC and colored it with my Copics:
Owl/Jingle Bell: N0, N2, N4, N6, N8
Berries/Hat: R22, R24, R27, R59
Beak/Nails/Eyes: YR21, YR24, YR27
Holly/Large Ornament: G21, G24, G28
Ornaments: R22, R24, R27, G21, G24, YR21, YR24, YR27

I added a bit of Stickles, (Star Dust and Eucalyptus), created an easel design with Stampin' Up CS, and used several die cuts:

Spellbinders Grand Circles & Grand Scalloped Circles
Cheery Lynn Holly Flourish
Cheery Lynn Merry Christmas Pine & Partridge Sentiment

BTW, the series I am reading is The Farseer Trilogy, by Robin Hobb. It was recommended by George R.R. Martin, creator of The Game of Thrones. I loved that series, so I figured if he loved this one, then I probably would, too. As I said, I am captivated by it.

I have not gone through all of my photos from Kaua'i yet. My phone seems to have over 900 photos on it right now. Odd. When did I take all of those? I shall endeavor to go through them soon, if I can pull my nose out of my book. And, when I do, I will do a vacation post for those of you who wish to read that. I will not put all of my photos in that post, but will try to narrow it down to a few that really give the flavor of our two-week trip. In the meantime, here is a teaser. Gary captured this photo of an elderly woman perusing her guide book before the most scrumptious lunch at Gaylord's. (I highly recommend it. We ate dinner there on our last day, too!)

I am drooling just looking at this fish dish again. Sigh...

Do check out the wonderful creations by my talented teammates: Carla, Dawn, and Kathi. And then please color up any image you wish and join us in our AG challenge! You may use any brand of alcohol markers, and we love for all skill levels to play along with us!

Have a great weekend!

The Outlawz Alcohol Markers 1, 2, 3 Challenge

Hey, it's another Friday, right? And I am here again with a card for The Outlawz new challenge, which calls for 1 image colored with alcohol markers, 2 patterned papers, and 3 embellishments. This should make for a fun challenge, and I hope you colorists out there join us this week!!!

I have been remiss about commenting on blogs for the past two weeks. But I have a very good excuse. I was on vacation with Gary in Kaua'i. We left on Monday, the 5th and returned on the Wednesday, the 21st. (After another over-night flight, which just takes it all out of me since I cannot sleep sitting up on a plane.) I am amazed I got my card done yesterday; of course, I didn't photograph it until today, so I am a bit late in that department, for which I sincerely apologize.

I will do some blogging about our trip, which included some fabulous food and drinks, and a wonderful anniversary dinner on the 9th. Our 44th, which I think I mentioned in a previous post. However, all that will have to wait until another post.

Today I want to mention that this month's sponsor, Ditzie Digi Design, is giving away 3 digis for first prize, 2 digis for second prize, and 1 digi for third prize. All prizes will be randomly-selected from our May participants. So be sure to get your images colored and cards created this week! We look forward to seeing your creations each and every week. We ask that you use any brand of alcohol markers for your coloring, and we encourage every skill level to enter.

I chose DDD How Do for my image this week. She's fun to color, but a bit complex, and I certainly didn't leave myself enough time to get her ready for today. Again, my apologies...

My steampunk image was printed on X-Press It BC and then colored with my Copics:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: E30, YR31, YR21
Glasses/Wings/Sleeve: W00, W0, W1
Hat/Outfit: BG02, BG05, BG07, BG09
Trim/Straps: YR23, YR27, E19
Metallics: YR30, YR31, YR21
Hearts: YR04, YR07, YR09
Spica Gold accents

I added two Cheery Lynn Gears die cuts and a bow of Stampin' Up ribbon for my embellishments. My DP is from the Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells collection; it was Zutterized and paired with SU cardstock. My Create with TLC sentiment was mounted using MFT Fishtail Flags Stax die cuts. And that's it for this week.

Please check out the fabulous creations by my talented teammates: Carla, Dawn, and Kathi! We would really love to have you play along with us this week! The more, the merrier! Looking forward to seeing what you create!

I promise to get to your blogs to comment ASAP. Hope you have a great weekend! (We are going to Binkley's tonight for Arizona Restaurant Week. What a great way to come back from vacation, huh?)

The Outlawz Alcohol Markers Color Inspiration Challenge/Ron & Merrilyn's Anniversary Card

Another Friday, so it is time for another AM challenge. This month we are sponsored by our new sponsor, Ditzie Digi Design. And there will be 3 digis awarded for 1st prize; 2 digis awarded for 2nd prize; and 1 digi awarded for third prize. All prizes will be randomly-selected from May's participants. So be sure to get your entries in this month!

This week we have another color inspiration. I had made this card last month for my sister-and-brother-in-law's anniversary. It just so happened that I had hit most of the colors in the inspiration, so I saved this card for this challenge. (Well, I saved the image; the card I actually gave to Merrilyn and Ron in April.)

My image is Make It Crafty Flirty Seniors, which I printed on X-Press It BC and colored with my Copics:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Her Hair: E21, E25, E29
His Hair: E31, E35, E37
Suit/Her Shoes: T2, T4, T6
His Shoes: BG70, BG72, BG75
Trim/Apron/Shirt/Newspaper: E40, E41, E42
Hat/Dress/Tie: BG70, BG72
Blanket: Y21, Y23, Y26, Y28
Chairs: YR21, YR23, YR27
Shadow: T0, T2

I added Cream Pearl Pen to the background. My DP is from the October Afternoon Travel Girl collection; both it and the image were Zutterized and paired with Stampin' Up CS. A bit of lace and cheesecloth were used, along with some baker's twine and a Prima Vintage Domino Trinket. I finished the card with some Stampin' Up pearls and a sentiment, (created with a sentiment from the Whimsy Fun Life Tickets 2 collection and a Whimsy ticket die).

That's it for this week. Be sure to check out the wonderful creations by my talented teammates, Carla, Dawn, and Kathi. Then use your alcohol markers, (any brand), and color up an image for your creation in our challenge!

Have a great weekend!

The Outlawz Alcohol Markers Food for Thought Challenge/Anniversary

This week's challenge is in honor of May 11th Eat What You Want Day. I tell ya, I am learning about all sorts of new and fascinating days in this world. I wonder who thinks them all up? Someone with a vivid imagination, if you ask me. But then, you probably didn't ask. Onward.

This month we are being sponsored by Ditzie Digi Design, home of very cool images. Our prizes, awarded to randomly-selected participants will be as follows. First prize: 3 digis; Second prize: 2 digis; Third prize: 1 digi. So be sure to enter, because you stand a good chance of winning some fun digital images.

Today is a very special day. It is our 44th anniversary. And I am so happy that we are together and enjoying Gary's retirement! I chose a Jellypark Friends image for his card, Romantic Couple Table, because we will be having a lovely dinner out together this evening. You know how we love our meals at restaurants. Foodies, we are.

I printed my image on X-Press It BC and colored it with my Copics. This took a lot of markers!

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20

I added a bit of Cream Pearl Pen to her earring. My DP is from the Kaisercraft Tropicana collection, and it was paired with Stampin' Up CS. I kept this really CAS, as the image was so detailed.

Please check out the wonderful creations by my talented teammates: Carla, Dawn, and Kathi. Then join us, won't you? Just use any brand of alcohol markers, color up an image for your project, and enter our challenge. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

The Outlawz Alcohol Markers May Flowers Challenge

Today is our May Flowers Challenge, which includes Garden Meditation Day on May 3. I didn't even know there was such a day until this challenge. Apparently, you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Since this is a new month, we have a new sponsor. And that is: Ditzie Digi Design. And there will be three prizes awarded to three randomly-selected participants. First prize: 3 digis; Second prize: 2 digis; Third prize: 1 digi. That is the first time I have seen multiple prizes awarded on this challenge since I have been a team member. Be sure to enter this month for a chance to win some really cool images.

I will be using my DDD digi later in the month. Today I have selected a gorgeous Aurora Wings image, Lotus Sprite Big Eyes. My card was sent to the family of Linda Palmer, so it has a sympathy message inside. The outside was kept fairly CAS for me. I used Stampin' Up CS and die-cut one SCACD Classic Corner to accent the image. Other than that, I printed the image on X-Press It BC and colored it with my Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: YR21, E15, E18
Eyes: E21, E23, E25
Flowers: RV0000, RV21, RV23, RV25, YR0000, YR20, YR21, YR23, YR27, Y17, Y19
Stems: YG91, YG93, YG95

That about does it for this week. I am still processing the fact that Linda is no longer here on our team. So pardon the brevity of my post today.

We are looking forward to your alcohol-marker colored images in our challenge. Please check out the beautiful creations by my teammates, Carla, Dawn, and Kathi; and then join us this week, won't you?

Hope you have a great weekend!
