The Outlawz Alcohol Markers Anything Goes/Christmas Twist Challenge

I told you I would be back shortly. And shortly I am.

Our sponsor this month at The Outlawz Alcohol Markers group is Sami Stamps; our randomly-selected winner will receive a $12 GC to buy stamps from Sami's darling collection of digis.

It is time for our monthly Anything Goes Challenge. We also add a Christmas Twist for those of you who like to make Christmas cards throughout the year, instead of rushing like a madwoman in November/December. Like me. Now I try to take full advantage of the twist. If I was really smart, I would make a couple more each month. But I never professed to be really smart. Now where was I?

Oh, yes, I received my new Copic BG72 yesterday. A little late though. I had already photographed my card, and wasn't about to start over with my image. That's why the blending is a little odd on this for the blue-green. I was working with BG70 and BG75, and they are a bit too far apart for good blending, even with tip-to-tip. Oh well......heavy sigh.

I am not really happy with my coloring right now. That's why I signed up for one of Alyce Keegan's Copic coloring classes. I admire Alyce's coloring and design--her cards are fabulous, but her coloring is the star of each one. So, when she offered her on-line course, I felt it was a good opportunity to learn some new coloring techniques. Of course, they say you can't teach an old dog new tricks, so it remains to be seen if the class will help me. For any of you who are interested, just go to Kit and Clowder for information. And, if you sign up for her Skin and Hair class before Sunday, you can take her Whimsical class for free. Good deal, huh?

This card will be my starting point for the class. I chose Saturated Canary Nikki for my image and printed her on MICBC. I am running low on this CS, so I ordered a large package of X-Press It CS from Amazon. Alyce is now using this CS for her coloring, so thought I would give it a try again. It has been a while since I used it. I used to use Cryogen also, but it will not go through my new printer, so I now save that for rubber-stamped images, (of which I do very few). I know, I know, TMI.

I colored Nikki with my Copics and Twin Touch Brush markers:

Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
Hair: YR20, YR21, E31, E33
Poms/Scarf/Skirt/Eyes: G40, G94, G99
Bow/Mittens/Jacket/Socks: BG70, BG75
Socks/Tights: E40, E42, E44, TTBR94, TTBR91
Skates: N0, N2, N4

I got my color palette from my DP, Carta Bella Winter Fun--which was Zutterized and paired with Stampin' Up CS. I added some SU ribbon, Washi tape, cheesecloth, Tim Holtz Mini Paper Clips, a charm, and die cuts made with:
Memory Box Night Sky Border
Spellbinders Create a Flake 3

That's all she wrote for this episode. Stand by for another post. It is supposed to go live at 1:00 a.m. Eastern time, which means it will be live tonight at 10:00 in my MST. Which also means three posts today. You have my deepest apologies.

BTW, please stop by The Outlawz to see the inspiration by my talented teammates, Carla, Dawn, Linda, and, our newest member, Kathi. They are really worth a look! And we would love for you to play along with us. In the meantime, have a great weekend!
